What's in a look?

Genesis 1:31; 6:1-7

Introduction: Surprise, joy, hate, revenge, love, compassion, faith, favor.

I'd like to present for your thinking what was in the mind of Christ as he looked upon people and then some looks of men.

I. The looks of our Lord
1. Pleasure, joy - Genesis 1:31
"God saw and behold it was very good." Heaven, earth, light, day, night, firmament, sun, moon, stars, animals, man.

2. Grief - Genesis 6:1-7, 11-13; Psalm 14:2

3. Compassion - Matthew 9:36

4. Anger - Mark 3:5

5. Look of sorrow and sadness - Luke 22:59-62

6. The look of forgiveness - Prayer - "Father, forgive them, they know not what they do" Luke 23:27-34

II. Two looks mentioned concerning man.
1. Look to our ways - Isaiah 55:8-9

2. "Look unto me and be saved." - Isaiah 45:22
